Recruiter on Campus: U.S. Navy Medical Officer Programs

Navy Medical Officer Programs help future doctors, dentists, psychologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals pay for school, gain clinical experience, and serve as commissioned officers in Navy Medicine. Navy Medicine includes over 4,300 physicians and thousands of other medical professionals serving worldwide in hospitals, clinics, ships, humanitarian missions, and operational units.

In addition to medical officer pathways, the Navy offers college level programs that support students preparing for healthcare careers. These include the Nurse Candidate Program (NCP), which provides up to $44,000 in financial support for students enrolled in accredited BSN programs, and several Medical Service Corps college programs supporting fields such as pharmacy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, environmental health, laboratory sciences, and healthcare administration. These programs help students reduce education costs, gain early exposure to Navy Medicine, and build a direct path toward becoming a Navy healthcare professional.

The Navy also offers major scholarship programs for students entering medical, dental, and psychology graduate programs. The Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP) covers 100% tuition, provides a monthly stipend, and includes a $20,000 sign on bonus for qualified students. The Health Services Collegiate Program (HSCP) offers full active duty pay and housing allowance while in school, allowing students to earn military benefits and retirement credit during their education. For residents, the Financial Assistance Program (FAP) provides annual grants, monthly stipends, and bonuses to support advanced medical training.
