Mrs. Clem’s “Flight of the Piccolo” program will take the audience on a musical journey from morning to midnight, featuring solo piccolo music depicting flight in many forms: birds, planes, ocean spray… and maybe even ghosts! It also features a piece composed by Dr. David Clem, “The Raven’s Flight”. The audience is invited to join in the “theater” of the event: wearing costumes is welcome and encouraged! The selections are intended to be accessible and enjoyable for all ages, and to showcase the beauty of the piccolo as a solo instrument.

DIANNA CLEM received a BMus in Flute Performance from Houghton University in 2004. While at Houghton she studied flute with Julia Tunstall and Nina Assimakopoulos, and piccolo with Joanna Bassett. Mrs. Clem has performed in Masterclasses with Peter Lloyd, Mary Karen Clardy, and Paul Edmund Davies, and performed with several Buffalo community ensembles, Houghton University ensembles, and the Southern Tier Symphony. She taught private flute lessons and assisted in the office and repair shop at Twin Village Music in Lancaster, NY from 2012-2017. She currently teaches flute lessons, performs with local high school musicals, and often collaborates in student and faculty recitals at Houghton.
