Details
Participants learn to recognize, respond to and reverse a suspected opioid overdose using intranasal naloxone (Narcan), and how to obtain naloxone for their use as rescuers.
Naloxone is a fast-acting opioid overdose reversal medication. Test strips detect the presence of harmful additives like fentanyl and xylazine in the unregulated drug supply. We've partnered with NextDistro.org and NYMatters to make these life-saving harm reduction supplies available at no cost, hassle-free and direct to your door. This effort is funded using Opioid Settlement Fund dollars.
This training is being provided in cooperation of Houghton University's offices of the President, Student Life, Athletics, Human Resources, Community Engagement and in partnership with the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (https://oasas.ny.gov/).
Following training, participants will be mailed a Narcan kit and a certificate of completion. [Note: You will not receive a certificate of completion immediately at the training. If you need a certificate sooner, please email the training instructor after your scheduled training.]
