Casey Jones, editor of Allegany Hope Community News, which is a national Weather-Ready Nation AmbassadorTM, will highlight intern and Information Ambassador opportunities with its online local news and weather coverage and emergency preparedness initiative. Information on a broad range of other career and ministry preparation and assistance connections also will be available.

Signups will be provided for a FREE emergency backpack go-kit for any student or household pre-registering and attending a state Citizen Preparedness Corps Training from 6:30PM to 8:30PM Thursday, February 8, at Houghton Academy, to learn about individual and family preparedness and effective response to fires, adverse winter and other seasonal weather events, and more.

A backpack kit can be carried in a car or stored in the corner of a closet by an exit door for quick access.

Registration for limited seating will be available by QR or URL links, or in-person registration with Allegany Hope, in the Van Dyk Lounge in the Campus Center.
