The Faculty Development Committee invites all faculty to a roundtable discussion panel:
"ChatGPT Across Disciplines: A Sampling of Faculty Thoughts"
Tuesday, Sept. 5 from 4:30-5:30 pm in Library 323
Online language learning models like ChatGPT have burst onto the academic scene with little warning for those outside fields like computer and data science. The technologies have broad implications for how we approach our pedagogy, but those implications likely look different from discipline to discipline and individual to individual. As we continue to think about the potential benefits and about limiting the potential harm of these tools, this panel should serve as a useful starting point for further discussions throughout the year.
Panelists:
Brandon Bate, Math
Laurie Dashnau, Writing
David Huth, Communication
Sara Massey, Music
Peter Meilaender, Political Science
Jesse Sharpe, Literature
Craig Whitmore, Education

Please send along questions you would like the panel to discuss to Alison Young Reusser (alison.youngreusser@houghton.edu).
