Joshua Band Auditions

Hello lovely Humans of Houghton University!
 

This is Rebekah Scharf popping into your inbox! I pray that you all have had a wonderful, restful, semester break with your families, friends and loved ones!
 

If you don’t know me, hello! I am a graduate student in the Greatbatch School of Music, and one of the student leaders of Joshua Band! If you were on campus last semester you may remember Joshua Band leading chapel worship with songs like “My Lighthouse” by Rend Collective, “Lay Me Down” by Chris Tomlin, “Beautiful Name” by Hillsong Worship and many others!
 

As a group, we strive to worship and lead worship with our hearts, and while we strive for excellence for the King we first and foremost pray that our worship comes from the heart, not our performance.
 

This semester, we are so excited to announce that we will be holding auditions for any student of Houghton University to join Joshua Band! If God has given you the gift and talent of music, whether it be singing or playing an instrument or both, and have a passion for leading God’s people in worship, we would love to have you join! Below you will find two links; one for an audition form and another for a time sign up! Auditions will be held this week and next, with this week’s being Thursday January 12th 7-9 PM. Next week's audition times and music will be announced soon. Please fill out the form and select a time slot on the sign-up sheet.

For the audition, you will get to join the current Joshua Band group for their rehearsal! Bring yourself and your instrument (if applicable) and play with the group, ask questions (maybe we’ll ask you questions) and have a good time! We are hoping this will be low stress for you and a time to have fun making music and meeting new people at the start of the new semester!
